Not Present

"Not Present" examines the fragility of attention in a world saturated with distraction. Constructed from reclaimed plastic bags—ubiquitous, overlooked, and persistent—the piece echoes the bifurcated brain form, shaped by hyperbolic geometry and domestic craft.

Distraction becomes both a visual and conceptual layer in the work. What begins as a meditation on transformation and care is complicated by the noise that infiltrates even our most intimate processes. Crochet—an act of presence, repetition, and focus—is here disrupted, revealing what it means to be mentally and emotionally scattered.

In "Not Present," the discarded becomes a mirror for modern consciousness: distracted, divided, yet still yearning for coherence and connection.
